Rigorous, applied research at the intersection of large language models, agentic AI, quantum computing, AI governance and AI security — carried out with academic, industry and public-sector partners on problems that already exist.

Heisenberg Research Labs is the applied research arm of the Institute. Work in large language models, agentic systems, AI security, quantum computing and AI governance is carried out on production infrastructure, under the conditions in which these systems are actually deployed.
The Labs operate a research-to-venture ecosystem. Work that begins as research is incubated and commercialized, and where it warrants an institution of its own, established as an independent AI organization. Deep Heuristics and Talendium AI are among the ventures spun out of the Institute.
Five domains where transformative work is reshaping intelligent systems. Open each for the detail.
Applied from the outset, and interdisciplinary by design.

Four formats, from a single pilot to a standing programme.
A selection of recent work across the five focus areas.
At the Heisenberg Institute, our Insights & Research work is where cutting-edge AI and quantum breakthroughs meet real-world impact — turning complex ideas into clear, actionable intelligence. We decode emerging technologies, spotlight original research, and deliver future-ready insights that help leaders, innovators, and learners stay decisively ahead.
