Certified Professional in AI Governance

I started looking into AI governance because it became part of my work, and very quickly I realized how much information there was. EU AI Act, NIST, ISO, responsible AI, risk frameworks — I was reading a lot but wasn’t really sure how to put everything together. CAIG gave me a structure for approaching it. That was probably the biggest benefit for me.

I had attended a number of webinars on AI governance before this and most of them were interesting, but I would finish with a lot of notes and not much idea what to actually do next. CAIG was much more practical. It helped me think about governance as something that needs to be implemented and maintained, not just a policy document sitting somewhere.

My background is more on the compliance side, so I understood regulation reasonably well but wasn’t always comfortable with the technical side of AI. CAIG helped bridge that gap. I now have a much clearer idea of the questions I should be asking technical teams when reviewing an AI system.

I had been reading about the EU AI Act on my own for months. The problem was that I kept going deeper into individual requirements without understanding the bigger picture. The CAIG curriculum gave me a framework to organize everything. It made the subject much easier to approach and also much easier to explain to other people.

What I liked about CAIG is that it wasn’t just ‘here are the regulations, go read them.’ We actually had to think about how governance works in an organization. That was the part I was missing from my previous learning. It helped me connect policy, risk, controls and the actual AI lifecycle.

I had a pretty good understanding of AI from the technology side, but governance was an area where I was mostly self-taught. There is so much content online that it was difficult to know what was actually important. CAIG gave me a much more organized way of looking at AI risk and governance, and I can already see how I can use it in client conversations.

Before CAIG, I knew the terminology and had read quite a bit about responsible AI. What I didn’t have was a repeatable way to assess an AI system. The program helped me put that structure in place. That sounds like a small thing, but it has made a big difference in how I approach the work.
